Enrique has a MSc in Chemistry (UNAM) and a PhD in Materials (Imperial College). He has worked at Risoe National Laboratories, the Max Planck Institute, the University of St Andrews, UNAM and Imperial College. He was awarded the Humboldt Scholarship and the status of National Researcher in Mexico. He has more than 50 scientific publications and dozens of presentations in scientific meetings. Before joining Smart Separations, he worked at Imperial College where he fabricated porous ceramic scaffolds and pioneered various processes to incorporate metals into scaffolds. He also developed a ceramic-metal composite membrane that separates ultrapure-oxygen from air.
