Smart Separations has created a new generation of antiviral coatings and ceramic membranes. ViraTeq™ technology destroys SARS-CoV-2 on surfaces preventing the spread of COVID-19 and a customisable ceramic membrane technology that challenges what’s possible with microfiltration.
Founded in 2013, Hugo Macedo started the company on his kitchen table. It grew into his garage and we’ve since expanded into world class facilities at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) and University of Surrey, Guildford.
Smart Separations is now a 25+ strong team of researchers, engineers, scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs. From manufacturing to air purification and from transportation to health care, Smart Separations works with partners where antiviral coatings or microfiltration is needed.
